 Foundations of Faith, a discipleship development course in the Diocese of Sheffield is now underway piloting units on Christian Worship, Church History, Christian Ethics and Using the Bible.
The course offers more than most parishes can normally provide in terms of training but has no minimum academic entry requirement.
The course runs for eight mid-week evenings, based in local parishes, but open to all.
During 2010 four other units will be piloted: Church and Ministry, Mission and Evangelism, Christian Belief, and Spirituality and Vocation.
These topics will be taught over eight midweek evenings in January-March 2010 in Sheffield; then repeated in April-July 2010 in Doncaster, and again in September-November 2010 in Rotherham.
Feedback from participants, tutors, and host parishes for the units piloted in 2009 has been very positive.
