The Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, will speak at a special event focusing on the importance of leadership in Christian schools at Sheffield Cathedral on Monday 12th October (from 0930).
Dr Croft is expected to offer encouragement to all those who are called to work in education and particularly those committed to working in the context of Christian education.
“Church of England schools are one of our strongest areas of work in the community both across the country and across the region here. The children, teachers and parents form vibrant communities with many community connections, not least with their local churches” Dr Croft said this morning.
During Monday’s event there will be a special service which has been devised in conjunction with Heather Morris, Diocesan Director of Education.
The Bishop will commission Heather and other education leaders to do their work in the community. “It’s going to be a very special day for many of us and we are most grateful that Bishop Steven is able to spend the morning with us” she said earlier today.
