  SHEFFIELD/ARGENTINA DIOCESAN LINK > HISTORY OF THE LINK

History of the Link

illustration of the linkThe Link began in 1992 and was effective from November 1993, developing the companion link between the Sheffield and Argentina Dioceses from the Sheffield end. We are a working group, responsible to the Diocese’s Mission Committee, comprising Clergy and Laity. Individuals interested in this mission group will be welcomed to its 4/5 times per year meetings, or at its organised functions. The Link is with the Anglican Churches and the projects that they support in the Southern Diocese of Argentina.

The Diocesan Synod selected Argentina following a process of linking brokered by Partnership for World Mission. A parallel process took place in Argentina.

The partnership is now into its second five year term and its aims are;

To widen the churches’ vision and help raise awareness of belonging to the world church.

To learn from each other’s experience.

To support and encourage each other.
